Before your first session
Ring rules and handler readiness
Every class and club event at SPDTC runs on a few shared habits: respectful ring etiquette, safe crate handling, and dogs who arrive ready to work. These guidelines help you prepare before you walk through the gate.

Your visit, step by step
Arrival, crating, and ring check-in
01
Arrive early and settle in
Plan to arrive before your class starts so you have time to park, sign in, and set up a comfortable space for your dog away from the ring. Keep your dog leashed in shared areas.
02
Crate with care
Bring a crate or secure setup your dog already knows. Keep crates closed when unattended, never leave a dog loose in a shared area, and avoid feeding through crate doors.
03
Check in at the ring
Let the instructor know your dog's name and any health or behavior notes before you enter. Wait for the instructor's cue before entering or leaving the ring, and give other teams room.
04
Keep the space clean
Pick up after your dog every time, keep water and treat bags off the ring surface, and dispose of waste in the bins provided. Clean shared equipment before you leave.
